Meet the Chef
Chef Sarah is a fourth generation Houstonian that grew up on the comfort food of Southwest Texas. Southwest Texas in its own has a major influence from Louisiana and Mexico. As a child Sarah always loved to cook but was dedicated to other talents such as sports. Her mother was a vigorous traveler during her childhood and has been a great influence to her interest of traveling. Throughout her career she has traveled to various countries of the world to incorporate new ideas and new fusions to the Southern name. Her maternal grandmother, Sarah, brings memories of family gatherings she would host. Tradition of the dishes from her grandmother’s sisters were the heart and soul of her family. With her transition from sports to the kitchen, her talent for cooking found its way to her. Starting her catering company over 4 years ago, Sarah’s Cuisine was founded upon not only the traditions of family but the unforgettable legacies passed down from generation to generation. Understanding the depth of the American South, Sarah made it her duty to travel the world to learn as much as it has to offer regarding food and culture. She has been to many parts of the world getting a better understanding of food, its history, similarities and differences. Throughout history, cooking is something that has brought families together and has also been the healing to pains of the past. Food in the South for her has been the stamp of peace, the rehabilitation of unforgotten sorrows and as a path to new beginnings. Chef Sarah feels the dishes that she presents and recreates imbodies forms of happiness, unity and joys of the past to tell a story that has yet to be written.
